Keepers of the Light
An intimate look at what life was really like for the men and
women who served on US Lighthouses and Lightships.
Keepers of the Light started off as a college project while being a student at Temple University. The film consisted of several former keepers and preservationists from the Northeast Coast and Great Lakes. While working on the film, I became friends with a couple of the keepers and after graduating, they asked that I expand the project and cover all parts of the country. During the winter of 2008-2009, I have been able to interview nearly 25 lighthouse keepers and preservationists and still have a number of former keepers to go. I am currenlty planning a late spring trip to Florida, Arazona, Louisiana, Washington, Oregon and Michigan in order to meet with more lighthouse keepers. When all is said and done, there could be as many as 40 lighthouse keepers and preservationist. |
If you were a former Lighthouse Keeper or a current preservationist, please feel free
to contact us. We would love to talk to you.
